A notch app for Claude Code on macOS

Claude stopped to ask. You were in Slack.

You run a few Claude Code sessions, then switch to the browser, Notion or Slack. One stops to ask for a permission and waits until you look. Bellpip shows every session's state in your MacBook's notch, and rings with its own chime for each.

How it works

Every state, in your notch.

Pick a state to jump to it.
    Meet Pip

A tiny bell with a lot of feelings.

Pip acts out each session, so one glance at the notch tells you what's going on. The light under the bell is the state.

Move your pointer over Pip, or .

Made to stay out of your way

    Quiet until it matters.

    Chimes that respect your music

Your music dips under each chime and comes back, so you hear it without losing the song.

    Quiet where you're looking

No chime for questions in the terminal you're typing in, and none for tasks under 20 seconds.

Your sessions stay on your Mac

No sign-up, no cloud. Bellpip never sends your code or sessions anywhere.

Which Macs does it work on?

MacBooks with a notch, on macOS 14 or later; lowering your music needs macOS 14.2. Macs without a notch are planned after launch.

    Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for. The free version works as soon as you open it. Pro is unlocked with a license key that you get by email when you buy; you paste it in once.

Does it send my code anywhere?

No. Bellpip reads Claude Code's own status events on your Mac (asking, working, finished) and never sends your code or sessions anywhere. It only goes online to check for updates and to activate a Pro key.

    Which terminals and editors?

Terminal, VS Code and Cursor today, including jumping to the exact tab. iTerm2, Ghostty and others are planned: tell us yours when you join.

    What will it cost?

There will be a free version. Pro is a paid upgrade with extras, unlocked by a license key. People on the waitlist get the launch price first.

    Is it made by Anthropic?

No. Bellpip is an independent app, made for people who use Claude Code.
